Anna Rey works as a singer-songwriter, band and string quartet leader, pianist, and freelance author. At the piano, Rhodes, or guitar, she sings for peace, feminism, and empathy, reflecting on transience and change. Solo, she has performed concerts with San Silvan (PandaLux, debut in collaboration with Sophie Hunger) and Löwenzahnhonig (Long Tall Jefferson, Fai Baba, Paul Märki).

“Cicadas” is the debut album of guitarist and composer Marco Menchise. The Apulian musician, already known to industry insiders for his involvement in musical projects such as Maladé, THINKABOUTIT, and for collaborations with Gaetano Partipilo’s BOOM COLLECTIVE and Roberto Ottaviano, released his first album as band leader on October 27 under FDS Records.

"Cicadas" is an English term that sounds like a Mediterranean word. This is the starting point and mission of Marco Menchise's project: to blend African American sounds with those of the Mediterranean, particularly Puglia. Marco Menchise’s music carries the legacy of an ancient, rooted genre while favoring a cinematic modernity. An expanded ensemble vision (winds and rhythm) shapes and colors the sound image of a cicada, the soundtrack of Apulian summers, alternating with its abrupt and commanding silences. The music session navigates the realm of contemporary jazz, where improvisation dynamically interacts with compositions, creating a language that is both modern and traditional.
